THE WORLDS OF MONEY

-

AMADO F. ROQUE, JR.

Does your money seem to have a constant disappearing act?

Are you tired of empty wallets and ruined budgets?

Money became the most important tangible object in our progressing world. But some gave it too much importance. You can say that money is the idol of new generation’s fools. However, some treated it with importance, but not with care. A student’s allowance is spent on make-up, new clothes, and computer rental shops, but not on miscellaneous school fees and lunch breaks. Three fourths of an employees’salary is wasted on gambling, gadgets and good-looking things that are not one bit useful. These people are a different kind of fools.

Stop being controlled by money and start controlling it! It’s kept in your wallet to tame it, and if you open your wallet for every beautiful but worthless obsession, it will vanish hastily without supplying your needs, just your w ant s.

Money is an essential tool for everyday living, and the best instruction manual is always our budget. Keep a list of the things you should buy. Remember the “want” and “need” rule. Prioritize your list; make sure that the most needed items are at the top of the list. Stop buying on impulse. This is the major fault for ruined budgets and disappearing money. If you keep on buying things without organization, budget or even a plan, then don’t expect to have savings.

Go Green! It’s not just a slogan for preserving Mother Earth, but also in preserving your money. Are you in need of school supplies? Check out your old ones. Alcohol can easily erase permanent marker stains on plastic envelopes. Old mugs are good pencil holders. Transform old notebooks into new ones by sewing together the remaining unused pages. Got any useless papers or unneeded Xerox copies? They’re great for jotting down notes. Be creative and resourceful at the same time! As for teachers and students, covering your visual aids with plastic cover can preserve them so that you can still use them in the future. Take good care of your supplies so you won’t need t buy new ones.

Does your money seem to have a constant disappearing act?

Are you tired of empty wallets and ruined budgets?

It’s time we realize that money matters really matter.
