8 hurt in 10-vehicle smash up

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga - Eight persons were injured after 10 vehicles collided inside the SubicConce­pcion-Tarlac Expressway in Barangay Parang, Concepcion, Tarlac, Saturday.

Senior Superinten­dent Ritchie Posadas, Tarlac police provincial director, identified the injured as Romeo Laxamana of Angeles City, driver of a Nissan Urvan (ZGA 396), his passengers Leticia Buan of Arayat Pampanga; Romeo Laxama and Patricia Parcher, both residents of Angeles City; Marlon Estonido, 42, driver of a Mitsubishi Mirage (BIG 899) his passenger, Adelaida Estonido, and Pianne Estonido, all residents of Purok 6 San Antonio, Arayat, Pampanga; Jett Majan, driver of a Hyundai Galloper (YEH-722) of Salapungan Candaba, Pampanga.

Posadas said the other vehicles involved in the accident were an Isuzu Mux (ABG 7768) driven by Rodrigo Sabillo, 46, of Valenzuela City; a Toyota Innova (PMO 430) driven by Aaron Ross Lacap, also of Valenzuela City; a Toyota Revo Sport Runner (WRG 179) driven by Ronald Mangoba of Angono, Rizal; a Toyota Fortuner (AIF 677) driven by Kenneth Paul Isip, 24, of Valenzuela City; a Toyota Avanza (NDO 838) driven by Fausto Vitug of Kanlaon, Mandaluyon­g City; a Honda Jazz

(DU 2237) driven by Gino Paulo De Guzman, 31, of Imus, Cavite; and a Toyota HiAce Van (ZHP753) driven by Joseph Conrad Derama y Bajacan, of San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal.

He said that all the vehicles were cruising towards the same direction along SCTEx towards north bound direction and upon reaching the place of the incident, allegedly an Isuzu Mux and a Toyota Innova from behind made also a slowdown but was hit from behind by the approachin­g Toyota Revo and then the latter hit the other vehicles.

As a result, the drivers and occupants of the Nissan Urvan, Mitsubishi Mirage and Hyundai sustained injuries while the other involved vehicles incurred still undetermin­ed amount of damages.— Ric Sapnu
