Pio Bituin Rides Again

-

Sunday, December 24 was Blue Sapphire wedding day for the popular couple Pio and Auring Bituin. It’s their 65th wedding anniversary.

A concelebrated Mass at the Angeles cathedral marks the event with a powerhouse Catholic prelate team in attendance. It will showcase the rare presence in a singular ceremony of two archbishops and three bishops.

They are Archbishop Florentino Lavarias, Archbishop Emeritus Paciano B. Aniceto, Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, and Bishop Roberto Mallari.

Sixty five years ago, a war was raging in Korea. It was in this setting that the young couple eloped. Their blissful union produced seven children who are now successful business men and professionalsHelmelito D. Bituin married to Ma. Luisa, Bernardito D. Bituin married to Virginia, Lourdes Remedios D. Bituin, Georgina D. Bituin married to Leonard Grabarsky, Joselito D. Bituin married to Grace De Castro, Victoria D. Bituin, Catherine D. Bituin married to Andrew Corro.

Bituin is an honor graduate of UP Los Banos. A prominent agriculturist he excelled in plantation management and sugar technology. A legend at the hacienda Luisita he helped build the Cojuangcos wealth while making a pile of his own.

At Villa Teresa Angeles City, he is called DON PIO. Some residents are bothered by the ‘Don’when he goes horse riding around the subdivision. The genuine millionaires and critics expressed their dislike and doubts about his royal equestrian habits. Like a cacique of old, he used to perambulate at the village park carrying a riding stick for emergency situations. A pious daily church goer, he is a staunch supporter of the Church. Known to have a temper he confronts vehicles violating speed limits. He moves around carrying a large stick which threatens violators.

Past VTHA officials had banned the entry of horse drawn rigs in the area so they can identify the lone horse rider who turns out to be the usual suspect.

DON PIO responds to foes by letting his horses accidentally spread their droppings before stately residences of his detractors who perennially conspired and prevented the Don from getting elected to the homeowners’association, reported his former gardener. Incumbent VTHA president Dr. Resty David and his group have cooperated with Bituin’s demand for management reforms and financial transparencies.

Doc Resty and Co. are glad to know that the Don has installed dung bags under his pet horses to be environment-friendly. To reciprocate the high clergymen for honouring his celebration, Don Pio pledges to oppose same sex marriage and the RH Law.
