As the province’s partner in putting a spotlight on Pampanga and Central Luzon’s progress and development, Sun.Star Pampanga on November 5, detailed that Clark International Airport (CRK) has increased its weekly flights by 282.
Airport officials said the continued increase in flight operations of major airlines at the CRK confirms the viability of the national government’s dual airport policy.
Clark International Airport Corporation OIC Alexander Cauguiran said the increase in flights came after President Rodrigo Duterte called for greater utilization of the CRK and directed dual airport policy of operating both CRK and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila.
Compared to previous years, more airlines are now appreciating CRK’s marketability and its increasing number of local destinations, according to Cauguiran, and its established domestic connectivity to major islands in the country has increased flight and passenger traffic. From January to October 31, 2017, the airport has already recorded over 1.1 million passengers.
