BE HAPPY IN GIVING

-

VIRGINIA A. VILLANUEVA

The attitude of being generous is an altruistic attitude that God wants us to have. We will experience a level of God’s joy and favor if live to give. We must learn to be a GIVER and not a TAKER. When we reach out to other people in need, God will make sure that our own needs are supplied. It is not only the material things that we can give to our fellow. When we call a friend and encourage a depressed one, then we should give him/her comforting words which will lessen the pain he/ she feels.

A rescuing hug, an awesome smile, a sincere tap on someone’s shoulder who feels lonely and helpless are simple gestures of love. Not all the time, finances and material things can solve and ease the loneliness of a person. Let us be sensitive enough to feel our brethren’s qualms. When we are happy in giving and when we focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that we are always blessed in abundance.

Have we tried looking our cabinets, lockers, garage, attic or basement? Those things that are kept and stocked for many years which seem to be used by who are in need. We need to look for opportunities to share God’s love, His gifts and His goodness to us. When we are happy in giving and doing good things to other people, then, in due time we will reap the good seeds we have planted. If we want to live our best life now, develop a style of giving: living to give instead of living to get. Have an attitude that says, “Who can I bless today?” rather than “How can I get blessed today?”

Giving is a spiritual principle. Whatever we give will be given back to us. If we are generous to people in their time of need, God will make sure that other people in their time of need, God will make sure that other people are generous to us in time of need. What we make happen for others, God will make happen for us.
