INTERNET VS. TEACHERS
ALONA V. PRADO
In almost all around the globe, majority depends on the internet. Learning how to cook or bake, locating an address, searching new people, chatting with family and friends both local and overseas, even online job interviews are just a click away and drag of the mouse and everything will be just in front of your very eyes.
More so, internet access is very helpful in education. It first improved the way students make their researches and thesis. Making use of the very expensive volumes of encyclopedia is obsolete. To google means to search and it is very easy that even libraries offer the internet access for faster searching and a more reliable answer to queries. A plus factor would be the colorful downloadable photos and videos.
Next is the vocabulary enhancement through the help of dictionaries. The most commonly used Webster dictionary has helped a lot. But now, it turned out to be an application that is free and readily available for downloading via Play Store. By simply typing the word you need to search, you will abruptly find its Etymology, meaning, sample sentences and hear its correct pronunciation.
Another is that, second language learning can also be learned from the internet. An interpreter or a teacher instructor is not needed anymore because the app teaches the learner on how to properly translate and pronounce the words correctly. It becomes more convenient since a learner can simply learn and study at his most comfortable free time, anywhere.
Learning activities, lectures, quizzes and exercise are all found in the internet. In short, everything that is happening inside the classroom if found on the internet except that inside the classroom a teacher does not only teach, but they touch and change lives.
Yes, it is really very easy to mention nowadays that learning is as easy as one, two and three because of the internet, but, inside the classroom, the teacher makes the difference because of their passion and love of teaching for those students who dearly appreciate the learning imparted onto them.
A doubt on a topic or lesson cannot be explained further on the internet, but a teacher exerts all his efforts just to be understood.
Questions might be answered on the internet but the teacher can elaborate them further.
Most importantly, values are inculcated on a teachers discussion and this is something that is not found on the internet.
There will never be any single moment that the work of a teacher will be replaced by the internet, to the point, all entries and data encoded in it are all from experts that were all once under the hands of a teacher.
