23 Kapampanga­ns nabbed for illegal gambling

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Twenty-three Kapampanga­ns were arrested by police authoritie­s for their alleged involvemen­t in illegal gambling activities during a series of operation launched in Pampanga on Wednesday.

In San Simon town, local authoritie­s collared one personalit­y identified as Domingo Manulit after being caught in the act of operating the drop ball game. Confiscate­d from the suspect were one set betting board/ stall, three balls and cash bets amounting to P1,920 in different denominati­ons.

Meanwhile, operatives from the Arayat police station conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay San Juan Baño which resulted to the arrest of Rodelyn Marquez and John Alexis Dapulag for operating the drop ball game. Confiscate­d from the duo were three balls and cash bets amounting to P440 in different denominati­ons.

Five suspects namely Joey Ferrer, Francis Yanga, Alejandro Mercado, Allen Coronel and Alexis Gliani

Cruz, 24, were likewise arrested while several illegal gambling parapherna­lia and cash bets were confiscate­d by Magalang police during their operation.

Personnel of the Criminal Investigat­ion and Detection Group Region III also conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay Telabastag­an, City of San Fernando which resulted to the arrest of 15 suspected betters of online cockfighti­ng in Mabuhay Cockpit Arena.

The suspects were identified as Alejandro G. Gomez, Enrico S. Mobido, Raymond D. Espinosa, Jason E. Calupiano, Romnick S. Arceo, Marco D. Pangilinan, Ivan T. Rodriguez, Ninoy Z. Candelario, Larry M. Asedillo, Jhayar D. Garcia, Ronnie S. Atienza, Erza B. Diano, Joel K. Rodriguez, Leomar C. Rodriguez and Juany V. Cabasa.

Confiscate­d from the suspects were six Apple i-pads, ten computer monitors, nine cameras, eight key boards, five headsets, two main stations, eight tripods, four laptops, three internet modems, boom mic, power cord, three tables and other computer wires and devices used for online cockfighti­ng.
