TEACHING THE GODLY WAY

-

A teacher’s job is no joke. We have to deal with lots of things in our career run as guides for youngsters for the future. Whatever kind of teacher you are, you teach and you do your best to improve with your profession. Teaching can be done by almost anyone but it is very hard to master. One way to innovate our teaching is aligning them to the best teacher who walked the earth who is Jesus Christ? In such concepts, we might learn a thing or two from God.

First, Teach to Transform. Teachers like us need to be like guides who have a good grasp of the road ahead to equip the ones who are less prepared for it. Teachers need to be good examples for we are like the veterans who teach the rookies in life. Teach them so that their character can be devel oped.

Second tip is to be imaginative. Jesus applies the same concept. He was so adaptive that he was able to use simple images so that he can deliver his teachings to people. Jesus captured the very essence of real life applications in learning. So fellow teachers, I implore you to be creative. Use pictures, media, and different activities that can somehow engage your students to learn. For what better way is there to learn than to learn from our experiences.

Another way to improve is to be interactive. This includes the understanding of the concept of turn-taking. One mistake most teachers don’t realize is that they treat students inferior to them; therefore creating an imbalance. Do not make it a boss- employee relationship. Don’t let the students have this image of a classroom that looks like a prison. Everyone needs a chance to show and express themselves.

The final concept is repetition. Teachers should not compromise. They should have the effort and patience to repeat if necessary. Repeated exposure to same lessons and experiences actually helps students. We must not be afraid to repeat. It might be inconvenient, but if we really are concerned with our students, we would gladly start over.

Teaching was never an easy task. It brings with it so much stress and pressure. But at the same time, It’s a privilege to teach. Teaching is a calling. I encourage you, teachers, to teach like Jesus did.
