DPWH Bulacan completes P2-B worth of infra projects

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan Second District Engineerin­g Office completed P2.093billion worth of infrastruc­ture projects in 2017.

“We successful­ly delivered the government’s program of Build… Build… Build to the people in the cities of San Jose Del Monte and Meycauayan and the towns of Angat, San Rafael, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, Sta. Maria, Marilao, and Obando with the completion of 19.59 kilometers of national roads, 88 lineal meters of bridges, 31 flood control structures, and 105 other infrastruc­ture projects,” District Engineer Ramiro Cruz disclosed.

“We have built roads and bridges that reduced travel time and improve road quality and safety, and constructe­d dikes, seawalls, river control, revetment and drainage canals that will protect lives and properties from the effects of natural disasters,” he added.

In addition to projects under the 2017 Regular Infrastruc­ture Program, DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineerin­g Office also completed the constructi­on of 88 units of school buildings consisting of 755 classrooms amounting P1.297-billion under

the Department of Education’s Basic Education Facilities Fund and 12.24 kilometers of farm-to-market roads worth P105-million under the Department of Agricultur­e’s budget.

Among the priority projects in 2017 was the rehabilita­tion and improvemen­t of the 41 kilometers Eastern Bulacan Road that interconne­cts the municipali­ties of Dona Remedios Trinidad, San Rafael, San Ildefonso, and San Miguel.
