Festive month for Mabalacat City

-

EVERY FEBRUARY of each year, Mabalacat City has a full calendar of activities which generate fun, pleasure and income for its residents and the city.

The Fiesta Committee headed by Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo has done its work exceedingly well and it looks forward to another rewarding year in 2019.

Preparations, however, were long as early as January in anticipation of the Ms. Mabalacat Beauty Pageant. I heard a comely, lovely lass from Barangay Camachiles won the pageant which bears witness that Mabalacat City is truly a cradle of beauties.

Under the acronym MCG, the Fiesta Committee has posted on social media the daily activities in February, culminating in the Caragan Festival, fun-filled event orchestrated by Jun Magbalot and participated in by various public schools of the city. This happens on February 23.

It should be noted that the City Government keeps this festival in order to preserve its cultural identity now known not only in the region but globally as well. Every centavo spent for its staging is well worth it and the participants, organizers and the committee deserve the adulation of the people of Mabalacat.

Small entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to exhibit and sell their wares starting Monday up to Friday, February 19 to 23. A rental fee of P1,500 is imposed on each stall taker. Well...

An agri fair will also be held by the Agriculture Office led by Lourdes Balatibat and Mar Canlas. Farm produce from the city’s farmers will be featured and the event will even be televised nationally via ABS-CBN’a Umagang Kay Ganda on February 20. * * *

Again, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has proven its worth as a state-owned firm as it has reported a net income of P1 billion for 2017 as compared to P738 million in 2016.

It is indeed one of the most revenue-generating agencies of the government, proof that it is effectively managed by Noel F. Mananki, President, and his team of managers who has worked hard to achieve the impressive goal.

The areas adjacent to the CDC share in the good figues in its net income by way of their shares in the Gross Income Earned of the locators.

It can be recalled that Mabalacat and other areas share in the parallel development of CDC and due to its laudable fiscal performance, we expect the former to benefit more in the ensuing year.

The CDC is one of the bigger employers in the area. The number is increasing as more businesses especially manufacturing set shop inside the Clark Freeport Zone.
