DA meets with Pampanga agriculturists
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Agriculture (DA) here met with the different municipal agriculturists of the province in a bid to further strengthen the agriculture sector in Pampanga.
The DA gathered municipal agriculturists from the 19 municipalities and three cities of the province at the DA Central Luzon conference room on February 15.
Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extension Crispulo G. Bautista, Jr. met with the officials and discussed the programs and plans of the DA for the year 2018. Discussed were the fund allocations for 2018 and the machinery distribution for farmers in the province.
“We will be stricter now. The funds allocated for 2018 will be disbursed only within this year. No more extensions,” he said.
“As your technical director on operations it’s my responsibility to make sure that the machineries we will be distributing are of quality for the benefit and service of the farmers. Let’s not waste the government money,” emphasized Bautista as he spoke to the attendees.
Updates on the high value crops development program and research division were also presented on the said meeting. The meeting was also aimed at looking into the agricultural situations in the 19 municipalities and three cities of the province and drawing information on the needs of the farmers from the different localities.
