Angeles City employees feted with loyalty service award
ANGELES CITY- Some 201 government employees in this highly urbanized city were conferred with their respective loyalty service awards during a fitting ceremony held Monday at the Angeles City Legislative Building.
The awarding is anchored to the city’s Programs on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) implemented by the City Human Resource Management Office (HRMO).
According to HRM Officer Elizabeth Lagman, the ceremony underscores the city’s appreciation to its government employees for their continuous, selfless and unrelenting service to the people of Angeles City.

Act and it is only now that they are getting interested in waste management after one of their dumpsites collapsed, just like what happened in Payatas years ago, plus the fact that the international community is blaming coastal countries like the Philippines and Indonesia on the problem about plastics. That is what we are addressing by sharing our best practices in this area,” he said.
Lagman, who spoke in the conference alongside delegates from San Francisco, California, France, and India, is the author of the city’s plastic-free ordinance and led the implementation of environmental policies such as the operation of the materials recovery facilities (MRFs) in barangays and private subdivisions.
Earlier in January 2017, a group of officials and environmental organizations from the city government of Cimahi, Bandung, Indonesia visited San Fernando for a benchmarking activity and observation of the implementation and the enactment of the plastic-free ordinance.
Since then, Cimahi adopted similar programs to solve their problems on plastic waste with now three “kelurahan” or barangays serving as their pilot implementers of waste segregation at source, sorting in MRFs, doing organic compost, and utilizing bi odi gest er.
Meanwhile, Lagman turned over yesterday to Mayor Edwin Santiago a token of appreciation from Cimahi City Mayor Ajay Priatna in recognition of San Fernando’s contributions to the successful implementation of sustainable environmental policies in their city.— JTD
