I AM PROUD TO BE A TEACHER
JEAN MEMPIN
I admit that I almost gave up on the whirlwind field that the teaching life had made me indulged into. Challenging students, field work, endless reports and documentation almost drudged me to give up and send a notice to my school head about leaving. It has never crossed my imagination that I would be in the field of teaching. It brings me a lot of surprises and frustrations at times.
Waking up in the morning to teach students with 1001 different types of behavior still stirs me to work more and learn further. The routine might be dreadful as you must teach students for six hours, arrive at the faculty to be welcomed with a bunch of tasks by your head teacher. What else could I be getting? I was even hoping for simple remarks, “Are you okay?”, “How are you doing with your students?” or “Is today a little difficult for you?” Not any of the mentioned was heard.
Strengthened and tested with time and infinite road blocks, I am still in the field of teaching and I am more than glad to share the things that made me ultimately proud of this vocation. It is not merely a job that ends at the whole day’s work. It follows me everywhere. Who would imagine preparing plans, lessons, instructional materials and strategies for 2-3 hours and will be used for an hour of classroom instruction? In addition, you would need to be versatile on all approaches that you have to be integrating in every class. Nonetheless, there are multitude ways with which I can burst out why I am proud and will always be proud of being an educator. > Teaching is a profession that creates all the other professions
All successful individuals I know have had a teacher who played great part in their aspirations, dreams and success.
> You learn a familiar concept for a hundred-fold and teach it for a single moment. Teaching inspires one to learn more and to learn continuously.
> Students who kept coming back makes me feel overwhelmed
Students who turned to be successful never forget to go back and express their gratitude.
> Teaching provides wide and deep understanding of various personalities It makes you hold your judgment and carefully examine a situation before acting out on any decision especially if it involves your young learners.
Besides all that were mentioned, many educators can actually add millions of reasons as to why they are proud to be a TEACHER.
