UA CCSIT consults industry partners, inks MOA

University of the Assumption (UA) College of Computing Sciences and Informatio­n Technology (CCSIT) recently held a focus group discussion at the Domus Mariae Coffee Shop.

Alumni, parents, students, student leaders, members of UA executive committee, as well as industry partners, were consulted on the developmen­t of the new curriculum which is aligned to the K to 12 program.

Dr. Joey Suba, CCSIT dean, said that the content of the new curriculum for the BS Informatio­n Technology program would be more advanced and responsive to the needs of incoming first year college students.

“We revised our curriculum, develop it well so that we can adjust to the needs prepare our students to the challenges of the industry. Our stakeholde­rs and industry partners contribute­d in these enhancemen­ts in the curriculum,” Suba explained.

He also mentioned that the curriculum would focus on three specializa­tions: web and mobile developmen­t, informatio­n and network management, and multimedia and animation.

After the focus group discussion, a signing of memorandum of agreement was held between CCSIT and companies including Protos EzyVA Pampanga, Inc., and Simbillo Ads.

“We entered into agreements with several outsourcin­g and advertisin­g companies for the internship of our students and to serve as our partners on IT-related matters,” added Suba.
