PRO-3 deploys 4,000 personnel for Holy Week

CAMP OLI VAS, Pampanga – As its last ditch efforts to ensure the safety and security of the general public during the observance of Holy Week, Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) Regional Director PCSupt. Amador V. Corpus bared that a total of 4,000 Philippine National Police personnel coming from the different police units in Central Luzon are already deployed within the region.

“We are expecting the influx of passengers in bus terminals and at the same time pilgrims and devotees to local churches and pilgrimage sites and they are expected to flock especially on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, this is why I have ordered the maximum deployment of our personnel as well as I have tapped the support of other police units within the region,” he said.

“We have also solicited the support of our force multiplier­s and auxiliary forces to include our BPATs (Barangay Peacekeepi­ng Action Teams) and radio net groups to help us ensure public safety,” added Corpus.

He further stated that police presence will be intensifie­d through increased foot/ mobile patrols and establishe­d Police Assistance Desks/ Centers (PADs/ Cs). Also, road safety marshals are being deployed in convergenc­e points particular­ly in bus terminals, airport, seaports and recreation­al areas including highways, main thoroughfa­res and crime prone areas to ensure maximum police p r esen ce.

“I gave directives to all city and provincial directors from the different police provincial and city police offices to personally inspect their men on the ground to ensure the safe and secure travel of motorists and commuters this Lenten Season and summer vacation,” he sai d .

Corpus also advised the public to stay alert and vigilant.
