“The youth is the hope of a nation” - a passage that is very common and yet becomes the ultimate goal our government aims to realize. But have you thought how it will become a reality? It is through home and school collaboration.

It is believed that the home is the first school of a child. It is where he is nurtured through the love and care of his family. It is where he starts to speak, learns to imitate some actions and wears values that he needs as he mingles with people outside the four walls of the house. All the activities of the child and everything he learns at home should continue to grow and develop. It is on this part, school comes in.

School is said to be the second home of every pupil or student. It is where his God-given talents and skills are honed. It is where his attitude gets matured and his principle in life is established. The horizon of the child broadens and meaningful learning’s are acquired in school. However, what do you think happens to everything a child learns as he goes out of school? It is at this point, the role of the home becomes significant.

With the ideas presented, we can conclude that home and school play a very important role in molding a child. A child’s success does not depend solely either in school or home. It relies on both. Guidance and support of parents and other family members, teachers, school authorities and other personnel influences greatly performance of the child in all aspects. A child turns into a productive and well-mannered citizen of a country due to the collaboration of the school personnel and family members. Home and school become partners in motivating an individual to achieve the goals he sets in order for him to have a decent life, thus, contributes in the betterment of the nation where he belongs. The work hand in hand to help the child grow and widen his horizon for the fulfilment of his mission as one of the best God creatures. So, a challenge is left to parents and teachers who have an immediate contact with children. “How will you work together in order to turn all the children into citizens with an excellent mind and extraordinary heart to make all places a better home to live in?”
