Gonzales turns over farm machineries, wheelchairs to Santa Ana farmers, seniors
SANTA ANA— Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales, Jr. visited this town yesterday as he formally turned over farm implements and machinery to the town’s local farmers through Mayor Norberto Gamboa.
Gonzales also distributed 14 wheelchairs to senior citizens of the town along with P2,000 financial assistance for each of the beneficiaries.
The lawmaker was guest speaker during the morning’s flag raising ceremonies. Gonzales formally turned over one four-wheel tractor and two units of shallow tube wells.
Gonzales also promised to facilitate the turnover of one mini tractor, kuliglig, transplanter, combine harvester and 16 units of shallow tube wells through the Department of Agriculture in the coming weeks.
Gonzales said that the farm machineries would greatly improve the farming cycle of farmers in rural Santa Ana adding that machineries would cut pre-planting and land preparation time as well as expedite the harvest process.
“The farmers of Santa Ana are very close to my heart. Helping local farmers improve their production and lessen farm input costs enable farmers to earn more and improve their standard of living,” Gonzales said.
Gonzales said that he is keen in providing machineries and equipment which are intended to improve farmer productivity and reduce post-harvest losses. The lawmaker said that since his return to public office, he had facilitated the distribution of farm implements and machineries to farmers of the third district.
