MASANTOL - In an aim to improve its delivery of services to consumers, the Pampanga III Electric Cooperative (Pelco-3) recently broke ground for a new and high-powered substation in Barangay Bebe Anac her e.

The new 20-megavolt amp substation will rise in the newly-acquired property lot of Pelco-3 located along the Pampanga River Dike in Sitio Putat in the said barangay of this town.

According to PELCO3 President Jun Sigua, the construction of the new substation is intended to increase the supply of electricity in Masantol and adjacent Macabebe town, thus improving the delivery of services to power consumers.

“We understand the importance of electricity in every household and for business establishments and Pelco-3 would like to deliver the demands of our consumers in the hope that it will help in the development of the community,” Sigua said.

Sigua also disclosed that Pelco-3 allocated some P55million from the cooperative’s savings to fund the new development project which is expected to benefit more than 10,000 households.

Masantol Mayor Danilo Guintu, who graced the ceremonial groundbreaking, lauded the efforts of the Pelco3 officials to improve its services and address the concerns of its consumers.

He noted that the new power facility will further boost developments in the town as it is expected to solve the frequent power interruptions experienced here, particularly in coastal villages.

“Now that we will have our own substation, we expect relief from frequent power outages and that the services of Pelco-3 will improve not only in Masantol town but adjacent Macabebe town,” he told Masantoleños.
