CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) on Monday disclosed that no crimes related to the observance of Holy Week, particularly from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday were recorded in Central Luzon.
PRO-3 Director Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus attributed the “zero Holy Week-related incidents” to the tight security measures and diligent efforts carried out by the whole Central Luzon police force.
He noted that at least 4,000 uniformed and nonuniformed personnel were deployed to ensure the safety and security of the general public especially in pilgrim sites and churches, as well as strategic and convergence points.
“We have deployed 4,000 personnel just for the Holy Week alone and I commend them for their assiduousness in performing their duties. Indeed, it paid off with no single untoward incident. I would also thank the public for their cooperation and support to us,” Corpus said.
Corpus, meanwhile, disclosed that PRO-3 will continue to implement various security measures and strong police presence under its “Oplan SumVac” to ensure the safety of public during the whole summer vacation.
“Our police assistance desks and motorists assistance centers are still in place until June 13 in convergence points particularly in bus terminals, airport, seaports and recreational areas including highways, main thoroughfares and crime prone areas to ensure maximum police presence,” Corpus said.
