CSF police to probe ‘bukas kotse’incidents
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Local authorities of this capital city are set to probe the series of “basag kotse” incidents perpetrated by still unidentified suspects that transpired in three different areas here recently.
Since March 13, three individuals were victimized: Napoleon Revueno whose vehicle’s window was destroyed while parked in a private guarded subdivision in Barangay Dolores; Samuel Tuazon, whose Toyota Fortuner was ransacked in Barangay Quebiawan; and Mary Jane Gomez’s private belongings were carted away while her Mitsubishi Montero was parked in Barangay Calulut.
According to this city’s chief of police Superintendent Roland Agohob, police operatives are now monitoring a criminal group who might be operating the series of “basag kotse” incidents in the city.
“The trend now is that they prey on unattended vehicles parked near churches. Right now we are monitoring a group that might be responsible for all of these,” he said.
Last year, Agohob said that they already arrested several individuals, including minors, who were allegedly suspects in the likewise series of “basag kotse” which may be different from the group or groups operating this year.
“We arrested the suspects last year but were not put into jail as they were minors. This time, we will not stop until we arrest the suspects,” he said.
Meanwhile, Agohob reminded the public to avoid leaving belongings in their vehicles while parked in public areas to avoid falling victims to such lawless elements.
“They target new and expensive vehicles especially those with untinted windows. We advise drivers and owners not to leave belongings inside their vehicles,” he said.
