Bataan senior citizens sing, groove in a variety show

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Senior citizens in the province proved that they can still sing and groove as they took the limelight in the Senior Citizens’Night Variety Show held at the Bataan Peninsula State University Main Campus.

Officers and members of Bataan Federation of Senior Citizens Associatio­n of the Philippine­s from the 12 municipali­ties and city engaged in a friendly competitio­n of chorale and dance numbers.

The activity was organized by the Provincial Social Welfare Developmen­t Office in partnershi­p with the Provincial Tourism Office and the Bataan Tourism Council Foundation, Inc. ( BPTCFI ) .

BPTCFI Board of Trustee Isabel Garcia cited the important role of the elderly in the family as well as in the community.

“I would like to acknowledg­e your contributi­ons to the continuous growth of Bataan. The wisdom, good manners, and the love for the province you share to others are unparallel­ed,” Garcia said to about 600 participat­ing senior citizens.

The choral group from Mariveles town emerged victorious as they serenade the crowd with a combinatio­n of pop and folk songs. It received a certificat­e and P10,000 cash prize.
