Angeles City Sisig Fiesta set on April 28

ANGELES CITY — The city tourism office, in cooperatio­n with Fresh Options Meatshop, has scheduled the annual Sisig Fiesta of April 28 at the Crossing area, the “birthplace of the original Kapampanga­n pork dish “sisig babi.”

John Montances, city tourism officer, said the famous “sizzling sisig” developed in the city.

The teenager, who was only identified as alias “John,” was allegedly being used as runner by her mother who allegedly sells illegal drugs to her known customers from Minalin and nearby towns.

“We learned that the boy is the courier of illegal drug being sold by her mother,” this town’s top cop Chief Inspector Pearl Joy Gollayan explained.

John’s mother, identifed as Marites Quizon, 40, who was the subject of the illegal drug operations, was simultaneo­usly arrested along with two more suspected drug personalit­ies identified as Jayson Navarro, 37, and Albert Navarro, 32.

Jayson and Albert were allegedly caught in the act of buying two small sachets of methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide (shabu) from Quizon during the buy-bust operation.

Aside from the two sachets of shabu, police were also able to recover 38 medium packs of shabu with an estimated value of P14,100 inside Quizon’s residence, while three smalls sachets of shabu were likewise discovered from the actual possession and control of Jayson and Albert.

Gollayan said Quizon is currently detained in the police station here and is facing cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while her two customers are facing charges of buying and using illegal drugs.

John, who is considered a minor and protected by the Juvenile Justice and Welfare, was turnedover to the Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t for proper dispositio­n, Gollayan said.
