“Iskolar ng Bataan helped me and my family in our savings and expenses. Aside from that, it’s a boost for my self confidence because it made my family proud that I am included in the top 30 especially that I ranked first in the province,” Cruz said.
The awarding ceremony was led by Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, 2nd District Representative Jose Enrique Garcia III and the Iskolar ng Bataan Committee.

ANGELES CITY---Sibul Ning Aeta Foundation Inc. (Sibul) has taken another step on preserving watershed, with the collaboration of writers, to launch the children’s book titled “Water, Trees, and Me”’ on June in public and private schools around Pampanga.
According to Adrian Carreon, one of the writers, as early as young age, a child has to be disciplined and to be educated on the significance of preserving water sources that can turn out to a crisis, which is happening now on Sapang Bato and Margot. The book is simplified for the children to easily understand the problem and the solution to the water crisis.
The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (ACDRRMC) has declared a state of calamity on two villages, Sapangbato and Margot, due to the shortage of water last February 9, 2018.
“I am now on the stage of making copies of sir Abong. May mga tatanda ngayon na bata with the same mentality of Abong Tayag and the rest of the sibul. Sila ngayon yung totoong Sibul ng Sibul,” Carreon emphasized.
Carreon said the book printing is funded by Sibul and it is a part of the now ongoing long-term sustainable project of Sibul on preserving watershed in Pampanga.
The story revolves around “A central character who sees the neighbors, the [tree] planters family and the [tree] cutters family” said Carreon. And “There is another character, Mr. Urban, he is a city developer. He’s not an evil person” he added. “But he is [an] opportunistic”
What will happen in the story is that the Mr. Urban will corrupt the tree cutters family and tree planters family with his greed. To construct his planned buildings, he will corrupt the tree cutters family to simultaneously cut down all the trees. The consequence of the greed is going to flood the city, he added.
Sibul is a non-profit organization registered under Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) it has aimed to assist indigenous communities and has been known a campaigner for rehabilitating forest trees and watershed preservations.
