HAU-SNAMS launches ‘Dean Marietta Gaddi Lecture Series’
Named after the founding dean of the then College of Nursing, the Holy Angel University - School of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (HAUSNAMS) recently launched the Dean Marietta H. Gaddi Lecture Series at the SJH Academic Hall.
The lecture series is an annual joint undertaking between the school and the nursing alumni that is aimed at achieving three objectives: First, to serve as a platform for distinguished alumni and other professional nurses to share their expertise and experience to fellow alumni, graduate and undergraduate nursing students, faculty, professional nurses, and friends of the School. Second, to foster the nursing education values instilled by Dean Gaddi to countless nurses who have been educated under her able leadership. And third, to position the school as a provider of continuing professional development through education to the sectors (academe, practice, research) it serves and where its graduates are gainfully employed.
Dr. Jonathan D. Cura (BSN 2008 Magna Cum Laude; PhD Nursing Education class 2016) was the first lecturer of the series. He is currently the head of the Quality Systems and Information Management and Data Protection Officer, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital – East Manila Hospital Managers Corporation.
He delivered a lecture on the topic, “The use of data in evidence-informed decisions in nursing”. The event was graced by leaders of various nursing educational institutions and clinical nursing departments in the region.
