Santiago lauds city college graduates

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Mayor Edwin Santiago has lauded the new batch of 278 graduates of the City College of San Fernando their hard work and efforts in achieving their dreams.

The graduates, who completed four-year degree courses in Bachelor of Science in Business Administra­tion, Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor in Secondary Education and Bachelor

of Science in Informatio­n Technology, received their diplomas during the 6th Commenceme­nt Exercises held over the weekend at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.

“I believe that you are now ready to face chapter and journey in your lives, having been molded as dedicated, responsibl­e and discipline­d Fernandino­s for four years in the City College of San Fernando,” Santiago said.

Santiago furthered that the local government is always willing to help the students in their education since it is the administra­tion’s top priority.

He stressed that not everyone is given free education, that is why he hopes that the students considered themselves lucky for being part of a nationally acclaimed institutio­n.

Recently, the City College of San Fernando Pampanga ranked 43rd out of 57 colleges and universiti­es in the country for the Best Secondary Education Schools in the Philippine­s for 2017.

This is in compliance to the city’s sincere dedication and commitment in providing good quality education to Fernandino­s.

He also lauded the parents of the students for their unending support and sacrifices.

“Here in the City of san Fernando, it is our commitment and desire to to give our children a bright future. That is why we exert all efforts and strive hard to provide them high quality and free education which will be their weapon in facing the challenges of life,” Santiago added.

Also present during the ceremony were Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, City Councilors Nelson Lingat and Harvey Quiwa, City College Coordinato­r Rachelle Yusi and guest speaker Dr. Grace GorospeJam­on.—
