Technology and Livelihood Education, being part of the basic education curriculum of the Philippines, plays a vital role in shaping the minds of young learners in embracing all bodies of knowledge related to livelihood and home economics and even the world we live in. These areas of learning are covered by TLE. This subject leads us to become more cognizant of the things around us. Through the varied ways of teaching the subject, TLE teachers let the students get out of their comfort zones and eventually venture on the realm of “knowing the world” and even letting those strands of learning change their lives ultimately and be able to meet global demands.

Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) is one of the learning areas of the Secondary Education Curriculum used in Philippine secondary schools. As a subject in high school, its component areas are: Home Economics, AgriFishery Arts, Industrial Arts, and Information and Communication Technology. Two types of curriculum are provided for regular high schools (public and private). These are: Technical-Vocational Education-based TLE and Entrepreneurship Education-based TLE.

The biggest question now is will all the competencies in TLE make the students meet the global demands.

Technology and Livelihood Education in the global community is a subject that helps student to be trained it daily aspects of life and learn daily works of our daily living. It just not helping student but people who need the knowledge of it. It develops our skills that will help us in the present time and the near future. Technology and livelihood education in the global community is a subject that helps student gain knowledge about cooking, sewing, good attitudes and right conduct, and many important things that will help students to use it and develop themselves to be a good citizen with right knowledge about the daily living and needs.

Technology and livelihood education is vital to becoming a productive member of the modern workforce. Choosing a career path, and then learning the technology related to that field or industry, can be an excellent way to improve the chances of succeeding in a career endeavor. Technology and Livelihood Education is widely available; however, it is not always free. Typically, students will attend vocational school, technical colleges and universities to learn technology, including computer programming.

TLR subject, if taught properly, makes students inspired and interested. TLE teachers like us instil a sense of importance and responsibility about learning and eventually make them meet global works. This enables students to develop understanding and form questions both on the knowledge they already have and the insight they wish to gain in the future. Students who excel in TLE lessons are likely to develop a strong ability to think critically.

The teacher is a highly esteemed individual at home and school. At school, there is no question about her dedication and integrity as she is looked up by her students. At home, she is loving wife to her husband and an equally loving mother to her offsprings. Her family is her top priority.

As a wife, she makes sure that her husband is well taken care of and his every need is met. She manages the family finances with utmost prudence. She is a very good financial manager. Thanks to her training as Math teacher in school. She knows the science of numbers like the palm of her hand.

She takes care of her children. She makes sure that she teaches them their lessons so that they will at par with the best and brightest in class. She instructs them about the importance of education. She always tells them that education is a ticket to get out of poverty. That she herself strived to finish her education to the point of burning the midnight oil. She never buckled from challenges. Instead, she used them as her motivating inspiration to gain mastery and excellence over her craft. The teacher is a very good motivational speaker in school as well at home.

She also put food on the table. She makes sure that her family is filled to satisfaction. To her, home-cooked grub is always the best.

If the teacher is good wife and mother, you can tell that she is good educator. She treats her students as her second family. What she does to her family she also does to her students. She is their second mother. A family oriented teacher is a big plus factor and boon to the educational institution.
