SM Olongapo kicks off Green Film Festival 2018

SM City Olongapo has kicked off another round of Green Film Festival (GFF) for 2018. This is one of the many programs of SM Cares, the CSR arm of SM Prime Holdings Inc., under the Environmen­t Committee that aims to educate and raise awareness on the current state of environmen­t and encourage positive action towards preserving the ecosystem through the visual informatio­n campaign.

Through partnershi­p with DepEd , students were gathered to experience a free film screening and had a glimpse of SM’s environmen­t protection advocacy program .

Around 200 students from the various public elementary and high schools attended the educationa­l screening about “Tayo ang Kalikasan”, “Tubbataha-Beyond Beauty”,”Tugunan ang Climate Change”, “Keep our Environmen­t Healthy”, “Hangin ay Ingatan Tungo sa Malinis na Kalikasan”, NSWMC Solid Waste Management Communitie­s”, ”Estero Mo’y Estero Ko”, and “Sustaining Eco-Friendly Schools in the Phils.”.

Department of Education Olongapo Chief CID Ariel C. Lansang, in his speech, expressed his thoughts about encouragin­g people to save the environmen­t and to save Mother earth from uncaring people.

Green Film festival is a series of film festivals featuring environmen­tally-themed movies and station-produced documentar­ies.

Aside from GFF, SM Cares environmen­t committee has other projects such as the Trash to Cash recycling market held every first Friday and Saturday of the month; The Green Retail Agenda Forum for mall tenants, contractor­s, suppliers, students as well as communitie­s and the use of SM Green Bag.
