Lani Misalucha: World-classentertainment in Pampanga’sworld-classconcert hall
a few days away from the muchawaited show of the season right at the heart of Metro Central Luzon, Lani Misalucha is all set in giving her fans the best night of their lives as she quenches their thirst for world-class entertainment in her upcoming performance on April 27, 2018 (Friday) at the LausGroup Event Cent r e!
Having risen from the local arena to international stardom, Misalucha claims that she never imagined herself performing in different parts of the world.
“Kaya tingin ko it’s just a tremendous blessing that I am doing what I’m doing now, which I enjoy so immensely,” she added.
The Asia’s Nightingale bared it all in an interview as she generously answered our questions and shared about her challenging, yet wonderfully inspiring, journey in the entertainment industry.
Q: You were born into a musically-inclined family. What/ who made you decide to walk this path and finally become the Asia’s Nightingale that you are now?
A: My dad plays several instruments and also sings, same with my mom. Kaming magkakapatid, mahilig ding kumanta. It’s just ironic that we are all musically inclined, pero our parents were the ones who discouraged us to be involved in the music industry. Very late na lang in my life na nag-decide ako to finally be involved in the entertainment business in the Philippines.
Q: You have always been acclaimed for your versatility in singing across various genres. Which one of them was the most challenging for you? And why?
A: First of all, I am known to be a pop singer kasi ‘yun naman ang widely accepted sa Philippines, or ‘yung mga ballad songs. But somehow whenever I do a show, I always incorporate in my repertoire ang classical music and ‘yun ‘yung somehow favourite ko only because mas relaxed ako and mas relaxed ‘yung boses ko. Most challenging sa ‘kin ‘yung madaming voice calisthenics, ‘yung may paikot-ikot na notes.
Q: You have been doing series of shows abroad for many years now. How did you feel the first time that you performed internationally?
A: It was nervewracking because I did not know what to expect. I did not know if other people will gladly accept an Asian singer performing in front of them. So, the first time, I didn’t know where to put my emotions— nerbiyos, takot, excitement. Andun lahat lahat.
Q: You have become popular to both local and global audiences through your music. What is it like performing in the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas?
A: It’s very challenging kasi dito sa Las Vegas, napakaraming mga shows so ‘yung competition talagang mahigpit. Sa dami ng shows dito, di mo na alam kung ano ang uunahin mo especially when you are a tourist. You have to be wise and make your money worth it talaga to spend. So challenging talaga since iba ang kulay ng Asians, and when they see us on posters or billboards, di nila alam kung anong ieexpect nila don sa show. And minsan may questions pa like “Oh, ‘yung show ba nila is gonna be in English?” So lahat magrerely doon sa first impression dun palang sa picture, di ba?
Q; Of all the appellations that you have been given such as Multiplex Queen, Siren of the Strip, and Asia’s Nightingale, which of them had the most impact in your life? And Why?
Q: You have done numerous covers of well-loved classics and had a fair share of your timeless originals, which of these songs had the most significance in your career? And why?
A: The moment you say Lani Misalucha, it will be “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin”. Kasi kahit saang lugar ako, ‘pag may nakakilala sa’kin, they will ask me to sing it for them.
Q: With all the recognitions that you have earned and the blessings that you have had in your career for the past years, which is the one that you are most thankful for?
A: Mapamaliit o mapamalaking event man ‘yan sa buhay ko, lahat ‘yan pinagpapasalamat ko. Even those corporate shows and those that I did when I was just starting in the Philippines, lahat ‘yan sa’kin significant.
Q: How is Lani Misalucha on and off-stage?
Just like when I go back here in Las Vegas, that is the Lani that I know. ‘Yung nandito lang sa bahay. ‘Pag umuwi na ako ng bahay, I don’t wanna go out and I’ll just catch up with any house work that I left. Sometimes, even if I have some free time, I still don’t wanna go out. Dito lang ako sa bahay and I’ll try my best to relax and give my body time to recuperate from all those days that I’ve been working. Also to spend time with my grandchildren. ‘Yun ‘yung pinaka-joy ko na talaga sa buhay ko.
“We will give you the best night of your life! We’ll give you beautiful music and entertainment. We’ll give you a great time, fun, and laughter at kung anu-ano pa,” Misalucha enthusiastically answered when asked about what fans could expect on her upcoming show.
