HAVING A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH COLLEAGUES

-

JERAMIL L. AGUAS

No man is an island, is a saying that encourages every soul to understand that in life to be alone is something that is so unhealthy.

How we treat our colleagues? Do we really care for them or we just think they are just like any material things that we can use, when we need them? Think about it?

Human beings are naturally social creatures – we crave friendship and positive interactions. So it makes sense that the better our relationships are at work, the happier and more productive we’re going to be.

As what Joyce Meyes said, “We can improve our relationships with others by leaps and bounds if we become encouragers instead of critics.”

That even in the Bible it teaches everyone to be of a good company, as it is expressed in Hebrews 10:24, “Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good.”

Do not build walls instead build bridges, to create a positive working environment, be a blessing in the workplace every day. A place where there is mutual TRUST, RESPECT, ENCOURAGEMENT, APPRECIATION and TIME for each other.

Thus let us always be understanding, be a good listener and learn to develop a sense of interest rather than being a pejorative person that means try to challenge yourself to work with someone whom you don’t feel like working with, then you will discover that it is great working with that person that something will be developed and that’s what they call friendship.

As what Marcel Proust said, “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
