Mabalacat LGU provides P1.2-M to Pampanga police

MABALACAT CITY — The city government here has provided some P1.2 million to the Pampanga Police Office which will be used in the maintenanc­e of peace and order during the barangay and Sanggunian­g requested some local government units in Pampanga including this component city to assist the provincial police in term of funds.

Paquia added that the mayor has been very supportive to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The city government recently provided motorcycle­s and other equipment to the local police, according to Paquia.

He added that peace and order is one of the Garbo administra­tion’s thrusts.

Garbo has directed the city police to strengthen its campaign against illegal drugs and all forms of criminalit­y, Paquia said.

SANTA RITA — Dozens of candidates in this town’s coming May 14 barangay and Sanggunian­g Kabataan elections attended the thanksgivi­ng mass at the Santa Rita de Cascia Parish over the weekend and signed to keep polls here peaceful.

Those running for the Synchroniz­ed Barangay and Sanggunian­g Kabataan Elections set politics aside as they attended the mass celebrated by Santa Rita Parish Priest Fr. Roland Lopez.

Fr. Lopez reminded the attendees to keep elections and the campaign here peaceful as each of them has the same goal to help the people.

After the mass, a program followed with the acknowledg­ment of attendees by Santa Rita Commission on Elections officer Ardith S. Comin. Sangguania­ng Bayan members and Santa Rita Mayor Engr. Ferdinand L. Salalila all reminded

the candidates that serving the people does not end during election, adding that service could be accomplish­ed with or without public office.

Santa Rita police chief Leonardo M. Lacambra led the recitation of the pledge of commitment.

Each of the candidates signed the peace covenant to “officially document their vow to uphold peace and integrity in the upcoming el ect i on s.”
