ACWD commissions Margot water pump

ANGELES CITY — The Angeles City Water District (ACWD) has commissioned its newly-built pumping station in Barangay Margot which is expected to solve the three-month water shortage in said village.

ACWD General Manager Reynaldo Liwanag said that the P8-million Margot pumping station started operating last May 11.

The new pump, which has a capacity of 45 cubic meter per hour, will serve more than 900 concessionaires in Barangay Margot, according to Liwanag.

The city government earlier declared Margot and an adjacent upland village, Sapang Bato, under state of calamity following the water crisis.

The ACWD management gave the city council a four month time table for the completion of the two pumping station in Margot and Sapang Bato.

Liwanag said they are way ahead of the scheduled completion of the project in June this year.

He said that they are doubling their construction in order to complete the Sapang Bato pump before the end of May.

The ACWD will also spend P8 million for the Sapang Bato pumping station, Liwanag added.

Hundreds of residents in the two villages were affected by the water crisis after the Clark Water reduced by 50 percent the bulk water supply it sells to the water district.
