PHLPOST implements CSR program in Guagua town

GUAGUA— The Philippine Postal Corporatio­n (PHLPOST) hosted a corporate social responsibi­lity program over the weekend at the Gawad Kalinga Village in Barangay Santa Ursula Betis in celebratio­n of the 2nd year anniversar­y of the improved postal identifica­tion card.

The event included the mobile capturing of chosen Gawid Kalinga Community for their respective postal identifica­tion cards, video gallery highlighti­ng the Postal ID uses and benefits, feeding program of underprivi­leged children and school supply giving to children of GK community.

The Hilario Sr. and Cristina Salas Gawad Kalinga Village were the selected recipients of this year’s corporate social event. The beneficiar­ies of the village make a living out of fishing, sale of scrap materials and scavenging.

The activity aimed to promote the use of the improved postal identifica­tion card.

MALACAÑANG is not meddling in the Senate's internal affairs and is optimistic about maintainin­g a harmonious relationsh­ip with the Senate despite a change in leadership.

On Thursday, May 17, Pimentel brushed aside the rumors that he will be replaced by Monday, May 21.

“It is not true that there will be changes in the Senate leadership come Monday (May 21). No such thing,” Pimentel said in a statement.

Pimentel was elected as Senate President in 2016. He is also the president of the ruling Partido Demokratik­o Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) p ar t y.

He has reportedly asked that he be allowed to retain his position until October or November.

Section 16(1) of the 1987 Constituti­on states that the Senate can elect its president by a majority of vote of all its respective members.
