TEACHING MADE EASY THROUGH IT

-

ANGELITA A. GOPEZ

Teaching nowadays has been a lot different as compared with how our former educators do in their yesteryears. Nowadays, technology has indeed made a leap, has conquered our world and has created a big impact in our lives. This explains why teaching has become a totally different thing.

Though we could still see and find it effective to have the conventional manila paper and cartolina papers, most teachers are equipped with their own gadgets- laptops, TV and LCDs in order for them to deliver their lessons.

This makes lessons more effective because as we all know, we are dealing with our digital learners who expect and find it more interesting to see those aforementioned gadgets in our lessons.

We also cannot deny the fact that most transactions and documents are processed through the technological intervention. Thus, it is common to see that pupils even transact with their classmates and even to their teachers through social media sites.

Histories and concepts are presented through videos and DLLs or lesson plans are accomplished through computers and printers. Enrolling pupils are done through LIS. Reports and memos are sent and received through the net.

Books and dictionaries could even be replaced through touch screen tablets. Applications from the playstores could be downloaded within seconds.

With all of these things, we could say that IT made teaching easy, especially for those who are computer literates, but sad to say, quite challenging for those who aren’t. Because of these, most of the trainings focus on IT related topics, making us not have an excuse to keep abreast with these changes.

As they say, nothing is permanent in this world except change. Thus, if IT really makes teaching easy, let us learn to embrace this and make teaching more interesting and fun for our digital learners.
