D ubbed as one of the countryside’s established icons of progress and evolution, the LausGroup Event Centre (LGEC) conquers the world of entertainment over and over again as it stages one music sensation after another.

This May, LGEC is all psyched-up on adding the 80’s pop-rock artist, Stephen Bishop, to its line-up of international hitmakers!

As the headliner of the much-anticipated Love Rocks concert, Stephen Bishop will be having a show-stopping arrangement of his popular hits and renditions of classic originals, together with the Manila-born long time showman and host, J Michaels; and, the renowned talented entertainer, Bobby Wilson.

With a heart for music and entertainment, Bishop was introduced to the industry after watching The Beatles perform on the “Ed Sullivan Show” at the age of 13, and was inspired to develop his own distinct tunes and compose original songs after receiving an electric guitar from his brother.

In 1967, Bishop put up his own British-invasion style group, The Weeds. Years later, the band collapsed and he eventually landed a job at Edwin H. Morris Publishing in Hollywood. It was only after the Grammy and Lifetime Achievement award-winning legend, Art Garfunkel, recorded his songs, that his talent for writing and composing songs was discovered.

Stephen Bishop rose to prominence after the back-to-back success of his first two albums that contained his chart-topping tracks “On and On”, “Save It For A Rainy Day”, and “Everybody Needs Love”. His famous songs “Never Letting Go”, “Parked Cars”, “Something New In My Life”, and “Separate Lives” also earned him a wide and steady fan base from all over the world. Moreover, his No.1 hit, “It Might Be You”, was even used as the theme of the movie, ”Tootsie”, the second most profitable film of 1982.

As one of the most versatile artists of all time, the American singer-songwriter is also a gifted actor. He appeared in several movies such as The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977), The Blues Brothers (1980), Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), and many others.

Let’s revel in the good old days and celebrate Stephen Bishop’s journey to the world of entertainment as he turns back the hands of time and gives tribute to the most influential music band across all eras, The Beatles, in his upcoming concert, Love Rocks, on May 26, Saturday, at the LausGroup Event Centre (LGEC), City of San Fernando, Pampanga!
