CSF pays tribute to ‘father of modern architectu­re’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The City Government of San Fernando on Wednesday paid tribute to Architect Fernando Hizon Ocampo, dubbed the “father of modern architectu­re” by unveiling his monument at Heroes Park of Heroes Hall her e.

According to Arkicamp founder Architect Edgardo “Ed” Castro, Ocampo worked hard to finish his career as an engineer and architect before putting himself in line to bring out his exertion of efforts for the world to see.

Castro said Ocampo left a mark to his fellow townsfolk, who all deemed him as the cultural emblem of Kapampanga­n since he introduced his views through his works such as art decos, beaux arts, and internatio­nal designs into the minds of the Filipinos in his beloved country.

On the same night, the RW block-time program, “Ang Mamimiling Pinoy”, of the Department of Trade and Industry Region III (DTI-3) was adjudged Best Provincial Public Affairs Radio Program.

DTI-3 Chief Consumer Protection Division Ricardo S. Naguit, Jr. and DTI Regional Informatio­n Officer Warren Patrick T. Serrano, the program hosts, joined by the rest of the RW team, took home the firstever Golden Dove for the consumer-oriented program.

The DTI program competed against the entries of DYHB 747 Radio Mindanao Network Bacolod and DYEZ 684 Manila Broadcasti­ng Company Bacolod.

With the station’s relentless service to the public by providing reliable news and quality entertainm­ent to its listeners for over two decades, RW 95.1 FM had also been distinguis­hed several times in the past as the Best Provincial FM Station by the KBP.
