Ease of doing business attracts investors to Clark 3 wanted personalit­ies nabbed in Pampanga

CLARK FREEPORT— The ease of doing businesses in Clark is attracting investors to this Fr eepor t .

Global Gateway Developmen­t Corporatio­n (GGDC) Chief Investment Officer Evan McBride said that aside from its location, infrastruc­ture and tax incentives, the Clark Freeport Zone managed by the Clark Developmen­t Corporatio­n (CDC) has become an ideal destinatio­n for foreign investors because of what he noted as a “very transparen­t business process.”

“For an investor that is first coming in, we can attest to the ease of actually investing and doing business in the Freeport Zone versus going somewhere else in the Philippine­s,” McBride said in a briefing held in Clark, Pampanga.

“[There is] a very transparen­t lease process, very transparen­t business process, registrati­on process, and we’ve been able to invest hundreds and millions of dollars over the last 10 years. It’s really a true partnershi­p with the Philippine­s,” he said.

GGDC is behind the developmen­t of the 177hectare Clark Global City, formerly known as Global Gateway Clark. World-class infrastruc­ture for businesses has already been constructe­d in some 50 hectares of the total area.

Access to quality infrastruc­ture, according to McBride, is an important factor for investorsa­sthey aim to create a good workig environmen­t for their employees.

CDC President and CEO Noel Manankil said that when locators apply in Clark, they only deal with one department. All investment processes, Manankil said, are also automated.

“In CDC, you’ll only talk to one face of government, which is one of the biggest factors especially for foreign investors,”Manankil said.

Manankil also cited the investment cilmate, availabili­ty of manpower, and surroundin­g communitie­s as Clark’s value propositio­ns. On infrastruc­ture projects, he said P1 billion was spent for road expansions last year. This year, CDC earmarket P2 billion for road networks, a mass transit system, park improvemen­ts, and cultural investment­s.

On the leisure and tourism side, Widus Internatio­nal President and CEO Daesik Han encouraged more companies from the private sector to be part of the developmen­t in Clark, and in New Clark City, a flagship project of the Bases Conversion and Develompen­t Authority (BCDA).

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Three wanted personalit­ies were nabbed by police authoritie­s in a series of Manhunt Charlie operations conducted in Pampanga towns and city on Wednesday morning.

In Mabalacat City, a 19-year-old suspect wanted for perjury and offering of false testimony identified as Art Joseph Canlas was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant issued by Rochelle Santos Manuel, Presiding Judge of Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Branch 2 in Angeles City.

Joint elements of Apalit Police Station in this province and Pilar Police Station in Bataan province likewise arrested one Virginia Pinlac, 34, in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Pilar, Bataan.

Pinlac was wanted for allegedly committing theft cases and was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Araceli R. Soñas-Crisostomo of Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Apalit and San Simon in this province with a recommende­d bail of P36,000.

Another manhunt operation was conducted by authoritie­s of City of San Fernando police in Barangay San Pedro Cutud which led to the arrest of Jay-R Tongol, 29, and wanted for robbery of uninhabite­d place.

A bail of P36,000 was recommende­d on his arrest warrant issued by Richard G. Evangelist­a, Presiding Judge, 2nd Municipal Circuit Trial Court, MexicoSan Luis, Pampanga dated May 11, 2018.

Pampanga Police Provincial Office Director Senior Superinten­dent Nicolas Salvador said that the arrests of the wanted personalit­ies are results of the continuous intensifie­d manhunt operation implemente­d all over the province.

“These series of Manhunt Charlie accomplish­ments were the results of hard work and dedication by the police force in capturing wanted criminals and I commend the Chiefs of Police and personnel involved in the said successful operations,” Salvador said.
