CROWNING GLORY OF A LANGUAGE TEACHER
MARIDETH L. NULUD
I have been teaching grammar and literature for more than ten years and I can say that everything seems satisfying. I am acquainted with the value of both grammar and literature in the life of a student. To make the discussions life-based, i use personal experiences to make elaboration of the lesson parts and such starts continuous influx of queries and so the discussion goes on and on and on.
By doing so, I am able to meet serendipity about my students’life. Sadly, most of the stories i hear are heartbreaking that as a human being, i am even moved by such true stories of youngsters. In truth, the stories are even more tragic than the other pieces of literature in our discussion. Being willing to share my pieces of advice, makes my students to talk to me during free time and they open up untold stories. Compilation of their stories in my mind is already is already non-fiction literature. But it does not just end there because the stories my students share to me make me more accommodating to the needy youngsters who i think they are forsaken in one way or the other.
I think it is this experience that gives essence to my task as a grammar and literature teacher.
