With the massive information that students get from the internet, teachers need to reinvent themselves as well as their strategies in order to win the interest/ attention of their students and eventually listen to their lessons. An innovative educator will definitely help students learn lessons easily ...Here are some qualities of an innovative educator that every teacher should know...

An Innovative Educator is Reflective – As an educator, it is important to find out on what is working and what is not among your strategies. Though it can be a little painful, we have to admit when a great lesson was really a failure. We must constantly check our processes and our strategies to make sure they are suited for the students we teach.

An Innovative Educator is a Learner– An innovative educator is always learning, reading, listening. Every teacher should find professional development opportunity which is viewed as an opportunity to get better and be better in the classroom and in the education community at large. Teachers should create professional learning communities. They have to take responsibility and initiative for their learning.

An Innovative Educator is Creative– Teachers should be creative in their thinking and approach. An innovative educator is very uncomfortable with doing methods as usual, especially when it yields no result. So they have to thinks of ways to make things better. They may change up a lesson to make it more engaging or increase student motivation. They may adopt a more alternative approach in handling challenging students so as to develop a stronger bond.

An Innovative Educator is Connected– It’s too impossible to be classified as innovative when you are detached from your students and trends in the profession. How can you know what your students need and what will be the best approach to use with them if you are not linked to them personally? Innovative educators fill the gap between the old pictures of teachers so he can determine what is best for each student.

In order to become an innovative teacher, you must possess the qualities mentioned above.
