THE INSTITUTION AND ITS CULTURE

-

People have different background, personalities, and culture. That’s already given, and most of the time people are quick to adjust to their differences. Harmonious relationship is established when respect is given by each person. However, there is this one factor which does not give a care about people’s differences: this is what we call the company culture or institution tradition. It is something which does not adjust to the people under it but rather, the people should be the ones to fine-tune.

All institutions strive to be the best or to do the best things, and it will only be possible if the employees or the people running these institutions will work hand in hand to achieve their common goal. The one controlling it is the company culture. It is unfortunate if the culture in your office or company has this way of handling employees in which it becomes a slave driver. It is much effective if the company assigns task to the employees based on their capabilities and area of expertise. But, what’s happening now is that an employee is expected to be a jack of all trades, master of all.

Let all institutions be considerate enough to add in their culture the freedom of each employee to express themselves in a way that they can perform their duties well. Let’s hope that these institutions will think more of the welfare of their employees because it is through a happy and at the same time competitive environment that one person can give his or her best shot.
