-

ANGELES CITY — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Angeles City went out of its confines over the weekend to give back to mother nature, while maintaining and tidying up its work stations and surroundings for utmost productivity.

Part of its first semester “Big Clean up and Sorting Day,” the staff of the Model District Office Class B for 2017 as conferred by LTO Central Office during its 106th founding anniversary, trooped to Barangay Calumpang in Bamban, Tarlac to plant seedlings as its way of contributing to efforts of protecting and preserving the environment.

“The activity was done with the ultimate objective of rendering genuine public service. It is a rewarding feeling when you are able to give back to people by serving them without reservations. And for the same reason, the tree planting was conducted as part of our Gender and Development program to give back to mother nature even in most simple ways,” said LTO Angeles City Chief Transportation Regulation Officer Aida Santiago.

She told Sun.Star Pampanga that the Angeles City District office will strive to live up to the expectations born from the citations that they earned.

“In doing so, the office will continue to perform the Big Clean up Day and Big Sorting Day religiously and untiringly,” Santiago shared.

LTO Angeles City has been rated “excellent” by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) along with Balanga City (Bataan) and the Capas (Tarlac) Extension Office in the commission’s report card survey last year.

LTO Angeles City was rated 90.41 percent, Balanga 93.12 percent and Capas Extension Office 94.32 percent in the CSC survey.

The three local land transportation offices were among the 28 included in the findings of the latest nationwide survey the CSC conducts regularly among government offices and agencies providing frontline services in accordance with Section 5 of Republic Act 9485, or the AntiRed Tape Act. — JTD
