CITY — A top official of the Ange les City Water District (ACWD) yesterday said that the local water facility has recently solved the water crisis in two villages here.

This following the completion of two pumping stations in Barangays Margot and Sapang Bato which are situated southeast of Clark Freeport.

ACWD general manager Reynaldo Liwanag said they recently restored the water supply in Barangays Margot and Sapangbato which were affected by water shortage since February this year.

Thousands of residents suffered from the water shortage after the Clark water reduced the volume of bulk water it supplies and sells to ACWD.

Liwanag told SunStar Pampanga yesterday that the water supply in said villages was totally rest or ed.

Last June 10, the water district completed the construction of its pumping station in Barangay Sapangbato which will serve more than 1000 consumers.

He said the pump has a capacity of 12 liters per second.

The two pumps will serve about 2,800 consumers in said barangay, according to Calara.

Less than one month ago, the ACWD commissioned the newly-built Margot pumping station, which has a capacity of 14 liters per second.

Calara said the ACWD spent around P20 million for the two pumping stations.

Four months ago, the Sangguniang Panlungsod declared Sapang Bato and Margot under state of calamity following the water sh or t age.

“We completed the project way ahead of the schedule. The water supply in those areas is totally restored in less than four months,” Calara said.
