Tarzan celebrates 84th birthday
CLARK FREEPORT --- Veteran politician Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, who is a former Pampanga congressman and Angeles City mayor celebrated his 84th birthday with his family, friends, and supporter at Hotel Stotsenberg the other day.
Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President Alex Cauguiran, Former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Commissioner Adelaido Rivera, Former Mabalacat City Mayor Marino Boking Morales, Former Angeles City Councilor Rivera, Bacolor Mayor Jomar Hizon, City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago, Magalang Mayor Malou Lacson were among Lazatin’s guests.
Lazatin was elected chairman of Barangay Balibago in Angeles City defeating the wife of outgoing Chairman Tony Mamac, who was also spotted during the former’s birthday celebration.
Lazatin was accompanied by his kids including Pampanga First District Congressman Carmelo Jon Lazatin Jr, Angeles City Councilor Carmelo Pogi Lazatin, Jr., in welcoming thousands of guests and wishers from Angeles City, Mabalacat City, Magalang town and other towns in Pampanga.
Lazatin earlier signified his intention to run for mayor in Angeles City.
But some of the family’s supporters are also pushing Councilor Lazatin instead to seek the city’s mayoralty post. CLARK FREEPORT— The recently concluded 19th Recyclables Collection Event (RCE) and the Proper Disposal of Selected Hazardous Wastes organized by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) with the Environmental Permits Division, the Environmental Management Bureau of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region III, and the Environmental Practitioners Association (EPA) yielded about P686,000 from the disposal of wastes that was collected.
According to CDC-Environmental Permits Division Manager Rogelio Magat, the one-day event was the biggest sales by far which was participated by 57 locator companies in this Freeport.
Magat furthered that the event was also in partnership with Bantay Baterya Project of the ABS- CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation and at the same time in celebration of the Environmental month.
Magat said that the biannual event aims to promote recycling and materials recovery as viable options to reduce the volume of residual wastes consequently promoting awareness among the various small and medium business establishments on proper management of hazardous wastes like busted lamps/bulbs, used oil, used lead acid batteries, and electronic wastes among others.
The said common hazardous wastes when not properly managed may pose significant health risks and can irreversibly pollute the environment.
