CSF welcomes new village, SK officials

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The City Government of San Fernando yesterday welcomed to the world of public service newly elected and reelected barangay executives as well as Sanggunian­g Kabataan (SK) officials.

During his “Ulat sa Bayan” or state of the city address (Soca) at the LausGroup Event Centre here, Mayor Edwin Santiago said that the oath taking of village and SK officials was jived with the annual Soca so the city government could guide them in their journey as public servants.

“I wanted your mass oath taking jived with the Soca so we could show you the way that you will take as public servants. Together, we will take that journey to the future and challenge ourselves to serve to the best of our abilities Fer nandi nos and kabalens. Welcome to the world of public service!” Santiago said.

For his part, ViceMayor Jimmy Lazatin told the grassroots officials that they are at the very core of governance and efforts should all be synergized with that of the local government­s.

“The relationsh­ip between the local executive and legislativ­e branches may not be perfect, but the synergy between the two has brought developmen­ts to the city and Pampanga. As part of governance now, you too should synergize efforts as you are at the core of governance,” he sai d.

Meanwhile, Third District Representa­tive Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales, Jr. vowed to continue supporting the city and its barangays.

“I will continue to coordinate with you on your needs just like what we have been doing. I will continue to prioritize San Fernando and urge you to be part of the partnershi­p between the local government and national government. Now that the elections are over, we should start working as one,” he said. — JTD
