A YEARLY EXIT PORTFOLIO

-

ELIZABETH L. TAWATAO

For the next teacher to better understand the student on how they behave and how deep their understanding on every topics that they are learning, I see the importance of having a yearly exit portfolio. It is a record that shows the whole experience of the current teacher before passing the learners on the next level of learning. It is documentation about students’progress and its ability to the learning process inside and outside of the classroom. Every teacher needs to help each other, from co-teachers, parents and the center of learning, our students. With this article I am presenting or proposing what would be the content of the portfolio that is subject for approval and criticism for improvement.

The Exit Portfolio is to be presented at the conclusion of the yearly teaching of every teacher and should illustrate that the teacher satisfactorily addressed Department of Education and School of Education Standards in a way that they integrate institutional and program standard on the teaching vision on the chosen vocation and how they relate to the world. To do this, there is a need to articulate the vision, mission and objectives well, that can be visible in the teaching activities. How the teacher exemplifies their qualities or characteristics described. The portfolio will provide a focused opportunity to analyze the practices and the impact of practice teaching on student learning. Teacher should also keep all lesson and unit plans, handouts, assessments, reflections, teacher notes, and observations throughout the semester as a major evidence on how the student progress during the whole teaching duration. Teacher will draw on these materials as they respond to the portfolio requirements below. The portfolio has three sections.
