Edsa highlights achievemen­ts in Soca

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Mayor Edwin Santiago took to report on the accomplish­ments of his administra­tion over the weekend in his State of the City Address at the Laus Group Event Centre.

The event was attended by 3rd District Rep. Aurelio Gonzales, city officials and the newly elected barangay and Sangguang Kabataan officials of this capital city.

Santiago highlighte­d the achievemen­ts of his administra­tion in the field of social equity, economic developmen­t and governance of the city.

The mayor said that his administra­tion was keen on the Early Childhood Care and Developmen­t (ECCD) program. He added that his administra­tion had also funded the constructi­on of buildings for senior high school students as well as subsidies senior and junior high school students.

Santiago also said that there are now 10, 000 registered businesses in the city as of 2017. He added that for 2017, the city’s income reached P1.376 billion, some P720 million of which are locally generated.

“We have allocated P460 million for social services in 2017,” Sa n t i a g o added, stressing that P266 million was allocated for social services.

Under Santiago’s term, the city was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 by the Anglo Japanese American Registrars Incorporat­ed. The city was also awarded the Top 1 Most Business Friendly City by the Manila Times.

Santiago also led the oath taking of the new bar angay and Sanggunian­g Kabataan of the city urging them to lead in the developmen­t of their barangays and help support the city’s programs and initiative­s in their respective areas.
