PLDT supports DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela 2018
PLDT, through its Community Relations (ComRel) Division, supports the Department of Education (DepEd)’s Brigada Eskwela 2018. With the theme “Pagkakaisa Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, Brigada Eskwela is a National Schools Maintenance Week that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year.
As a response to the request of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) “Tabang Pa- Eskwela sa Tribo”, PLDT has been supporting the far-flung communities in Davao to address the needs of Indigenous People (IP). This year, the company gave away P5,000 worth of slippers to the community.
In partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) Ready for School program, PLDT also painted chalkboards and covered 200 books in Navotas National High School. The Company also donated painting, construction and school materials in some schools in Davao, Cagayan, Tarlac, and Pampanga.
Since 2005, PLDT, has been an advocate of DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela program. “PLDT has always been a purveyor of quality education that enables today’s youth to pursue learning within a better environment,” said PLDT ComRel Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera.
