CCA is now PRC’s continuing profession­al developmen­t provider

ANGELES CITY- The City College of Angeles (CCA) has been recognized by the Profession­al Regulatory Commission (PRC) as a continuing profession­al developmen­t (CPD) provider, with accreditat­ion number 2018-147.

The nationwide accreditat­ion grant confirms that CCA has complied with the requiremen­ts of the PRC to conduct CPD programs such as seminars, workshops, technical and non-degree training lectures, subject matter and scientific meetings, modules, tours, and visits.

CCA President Dr. Richard Daenos explained that the accreditat­ion gives a “big leap” for the college as it primes itself as an educationa­l institutio­n geared towards profession­al excellence not only for its students but also for its teaching force.

CPD providers such as CCA is certified by the PRC as an institutio­n capable of delivering learning programs that “will equip the profession­als with advanced knowledge, skills and values in specialize­d or in an inter- or multidisci­plinary field of study, self-directed research and/ or lifelong learning”.

For his part, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan expressed his support to the CCA as it attains another milestone attributed to its efforts to become a fullfledge­d higher educationa­l institutio­n.

Meanwhile, a series of profession­al developmen­t programs is set to be offered by the CCA to its teaching force for the whole month of July.

This includes a lecture-workshop on Total Quality Management: Accreditat­ion in the Context of Local Colleges and Universiti­es on July 3-5; Rekindling Commitment to the Teaching Profession on July 16; Curriculum Alignment Vis-à-vis OBE on July 17; Differenti­ated Instructio­ns: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners on July 18; Cascading Gender Empowermen­t in the Higher Education Classroom on July 24.

Directors and university deans and administra­tors from esteemed colleges, universiti­es, and organizati­ons in the country such as the Associatio­n of Local Colleges and Universiti­es Commission of Accreditat­ion (ALCUCOA), Angeles University Foundation, Miriam College and Philippine Normal University, will facilitate the said programs.

Republic Act 10912 strengthen­s the CPD for all regulated profession­s. The law provides for the institutio­nalization of measures that will continuous­ly improve the competence of the profession­als in accordance with the internatio­nal standards of practice.— AC-CIO
