CCA is now PRC’s continuing professional development provider
ANGELES CITY- The City College of Angeles (CCA) has been recognized by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) as a continuing professional development (CPD) provider, with accreditation number 2018-147.
The nationwide accreditation grant confirms that CCA has complied with the requirements of the PRC to conduct CPD programs such as seminars, workshops, technical and non-degree training lectures, subject matter and scientific meetings, modules, tours, and visits.
CCA President Dr. Richard Daenos explained that the accreditation gives a “big leap” for the college as it primes itself as an educational institution geared towards professional excellence not only for its students but also for its teaching force.
CPD providers such as CCA is certified by the PRC as an institution capable of delivering learning programs that “will equip the professionals with advanced knowledge, skills and values in specialized or in an inter- or multidisciplinary field of study, self-directed research and/ or lifelong learning”.
For his part, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan expressed his support to the CCA as it attains another milestone attributed to its efforts to become a fullfledged higher educational institution.
Meanwhile, a series of professional development programs is set to be offered by the CCA to its teaching force for the whole month of July.
This includes a lecture-workshop on Total Quality Management: Accreditation in the Context of Local Colleges and Universities on July 3-5; Rekindling Commitment to the Teaching Profession on July 16; Curriculum Alignment Vis-à-vis OBE on July 17; Differentiated Instructions: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners on July 18; Cascading Gender Empowerment in the Higher Education Classroom on July 24.
Directors and university deans and administrators from esteemed colleges, universities, and organizations in the country such as the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission of Accreditation (ALCUCOA), Angeles University Foundation, Miriam College and Philippine Normal University, will facilitate the said programs.
Republic Act 10912 strengthens the CPD for all regulated professions. The law provides for the institutionalization of measures that will continuously improve the competence of the professionals in accordance with the international standards of practice.— AC-CIO
