Teddy Tumang, Best Mayor

-

A series of momentous events saw the political climate in Pampanga changing overnight.

Reports from the US where Gov. Pineda is spending a well deserved vacation said Nanay Gov is well satisfied with the performance of his son Delta, Vice Gov. Dennis who is the Acting Governor.

While the Nanay sweeps the countryside with her commanding presence and generosity, she wins people by love. Delta’s quiet and effective leadership is marked by the people’s fear of the unknown.

Dennis has two winning assets going for him. In all his life as politician he has maintained his corruptionfree image, the second he has not been known to be arrogant and abusive. He lacks the loquacity and bombast of a politician creating an aura of mystery around hi m.

Months going to the mid-term elections in 2019 Dennis’s strongest rival for Governor, 4th District Rep. Rimpy Bondoc keeps a studied distance from provincial politics. His time for weighing the situation is over. He appears intimidated and overwhelmed by the odds and may scuttle his plan for the Capitol.

Bacolor Mayor Jomar Hizon is not afraid of the well-entrenched governor. But this potential aspirant is ambivalent in desiring to be governor yet apprehensive of leaving his town to former mayor Buddy Dungca. A comedy of sorts here with energetic Buddy Boy waiting to play while the cat is away.

Jomar, indeed, has started making consultations. Groups from jejune drinkers, cockfight aficionados and trolls from jolly good fellows encourage the Pampanga’s Best executive to make a try for the derby in cash-rich Kapitolyo.

A P1.5 Billion worth of approved projects intended for Angeles City compels City Mayor Ed Pamintuan to run for Congress. These infra projects most of which were formulated and fought for by the wonder boy cannot be compromised. He pledged himself to their trouble-free and timely completion in his term in whatever position. Residents have started calling him “Cong Ed” in recognition of his enormous achievements and in hopeful anticipation of his plans and programs for good government.

Mexico Mayor Teddy Tumang, son of a coffin maker, who made a pile as a surplus importer of industrial machinery never ceases his cabalen to awe at his health projects while working for increased agricultural productivity and restoring peace at the former Huk lair. He was the first and only town mayor to establish and operate a modern community hospital which earned him the DILG-DOH reputation as “Best Town Mayor.”

Recently he inaugurated a Renal facility in the renowned community hospital, reported to be the largest among all district health institutions. The Delta has found no better ally and political ‘pardner’in Tumang. Mexico and adjacent towns are grateful that the Acting Gov is supporting this new facility.. I do not wonder if Dennis Pineda appoints Tumang his campaign manager for Pampanga East.
