“You cannot give what you don’t have. You cannot teach what you don’t know.” As a teacher, learning never ends. Everyday has something to offer that leads to experience.

Teaching and learning comes hand in hand. It is an unending process that continues to change not only the lives of the students but the teachers as well. It is the task of the teacher to impart knowledge to her students where she shares beyond the content of the curriculum. Also, teachers learn a lot of virtues from her students like being more understanding, patient, considerate, emphatic and more passionate. Sometimes, it is the teacher who learns more from her students. Not with the lessons from the book but from the lives and struggles of each student.

Also, as a teacher, professional development is important. Continuing education and attending different seminars and trainings will greatly enhance the teacher’s potential and knowledge that will enhance not only her teaching approaches and strategies. Also, it will benefit the students more with the 21st century skills imparted by the teacher.

Truly, it is not the salary that motivates the teacher to do more and to give more. It is the passion and love for her students that give her the will to continue her vocation. The reward of the teacher is to see her students succeed in all aspects of life. The seed of knowledge that has been planted and imparted to them will soon bear fruits of success and blessings that will be reaped in due time.
