Porac mayor opts not to pursue municipal post
PORAC- Mayor Condalito dela Cruz said that he may no longer seek political office in 2019 adding that three terms as municipal mayor of Porac is already service enough for his const i t uent s.
Dela Cruz said that he is confident of the younger leaders of the town who will succeed him.
Dela Cruz has been rumored to run for a municipal post in 2019 or at least bat for a political position as provincial board member for Pampanga’s second district.
He had won the mayoralty race with Vice-Mayor Dexter David in the 2016 polls against former Board Member Mike Tapang and former Mayor Roger Sant os.
David is expected by most to succeed Dela Cruz as municipal mayor with Councilor Maynard Lapid as running mate. The two officials’official photographs have been showing up in many places in Porac town together, confirming reports of their tandem in the 2019 polls.
Dela Cruz added that as of now, he is looking at the situation.
He added that while it would be his personal wish, and that of his wife that he should retire from politics, different sectors have been urging him to push further.
Dela Cruz served as municipal councilor and later as vice-mayor before he ran as municipal mayor.
